I'm can't take it anymore! (Yeah, I bought a Treo)

Folks,

The triple-whammy of Sprint releasing all-you-can-eat-data for $10, the general concensus that Sprint will not have the phone until Q1'03, and news of the field testing failure of the 7135 for Verizon was too much for this frenetic smartphone freak. After angrily smashing my laptop on the floor and crushing each of the keys with my loafers(after I read the Verizon test failure post), I grabbed my checkbook and drove to my local circuit city and bought a Treo 300.

I respect those of you who are not as weak as I am, who can continue to hold out hope for a better world. I will likely continue to monitor this forum once a week or so (instead of hitting the refresh button every 15 seconds like I had been doing lately). When the 7135 is finally here for Sprint, I will probablly ebay this Treo and get one.

As for my impressions of the Treo...having owned most of the palm devices out there and then the Kyocera 6035 and the Samsung i300, the Treo with its keyboard and flimsy-flip, is taking some getting used to. One thing I didn't realize was that there is no launcher button, no find button, no calculator button, and no menu button. These are all accessible with a couple of button pushes from the keyboard but I am very used to silkscreen versions of these. Battery life appears to be lousy. I may not make it through the entire day on a single charge and you can't replace it. Web data is faster than it has ever been on a phone and actually seems usable. One program that I just started to use now that I am on all-you-can-eat data plan is Win-Hand. Wow! That's is an impressive program. There is something surreal about the first time your driving to work and you attach to your kids' computer at home to fix a program they are having trouble with. On the whole, I am happy with the treo. I wish it had voice-memos, I wish the speakerphone was as loud as the Samsung, I wish it could play Mp3s, I wish it had a replaceable battery, I wish it was expanable, and I wish someone could figure out a resoultion to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict....

So goodbye for now and good luck to you all in your quest for the 7135.
