I would wager that in the 10+ year history of mobile phones, there not been a single phone released with a "non-backlit" keypad.
Even if they originally created the phone w/ no backlight I think that in the approximately 18 months of teasing the public someone (or three) would have mentioned.....that the emperor has no clothes on.....
