I just realized yesterday that the 7135 does not have keypad that is backlit. I sent Kyo an email saying:

I just learned that the "coming soon" (who knows when) Kyo 7135 does NOT have a backlit keypad! After all the improvements you've made to the smartphone you missed the basics in design. I am a QCP6035 user for over a year and have been waiting anxiously for the 7135 only to find this serious flaw (at least to me). If I can't see the phone to dial, all the new
features won't be helpful.

The Kyo replied:

Thank you for your interest in Kyocera Wireless Corp. CDMA digital wireless
products.

The illumination of the color Palm LCD should allow you to see the Keypad.

A typical answer from a sales weeny! I will be seriously considering another phone!
